Charles River Cleanup: Saturday, April 27, 2019
EcoPledge will be working with the Charles River Watershed Association and many other organizations to clean up litter and invasive species along the Charles. Each year over 3,000 volunteers come together to clean up the water way the weekend after Earth Day. Food Pantry Work Days: Dates to be determined*
For the past few semesters, EcoPledge has volunteered with the Centre Street Food Pantry in Newton. Volunteers typically help organize shelves and package food. This semester, the volunteer committee is planning to partner with the American Red Cross Food Pantry as well to help with pantry operations and interact with a community in Boston. |
Sustainable Fashion Clothing Drive: Spring Semester 2019
This semester, a group in the volunteer committee will be working together to plan a clothing drive at Boston College. This group is also planning to develop a sustainable fashion guide to educate BC students on the environmental impact of fast fashion and help them become more informed consumers. Revere Beach Cleanup: April 6, 2018
The weekend before Green Week, the volunteer committee will be doing a trash cleanup at Revere Beach. Some of the most common types of ocean trash will be kept and then shown to students at Green Week to spread awareness on how consumption pollutes the ocean. |
